This rallying cry was especially poignant as it marked their final Big 12 season before transitioning to the SEC next year. Friday night witnessed a spectacular farewell party at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium, with the Longhorns (11-1, 8-1 in conference) securing a spot in the Big 12 championship game by dominating Texas Tech 57-7—a sweet redemption after last year's defeat in Lubbock.

The 7th-ranked Longhorns showcased an imposing defensive display, limiting Texas Tech to a mere 198 total yards. The game was marked by fortuitous bounces, exemplified by linebacker Jett Bush's 43-yard touchdown return after the ball ricocheted off Red Raiders running back Tahj Brooks' foot.

Sarkisian, when asked about the significance of Friday night's victory, humbly stated, "I don't know from a College Football Playoff perspective what that looks like."
