A bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting or economics. 3-5 years of experience at a top-tier investment bank or consulting firm (including completion of a formal financial modeling training program). Familiarity with securitization markets, preferably working with consumer loans (secured or unsecured), is preferred. Advanced Excel skills and strong modeling skills. Proficiency in extracting and synthesizing data for analysis. Experience with SQL will be viewed favorably. Strong PowerPoint and presentation skills, both oral and written. Strong organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills. Attention to detail is a requirement, accounting knowledge is a plus. Duties: | The Capital Markets Analyst/Associate will play a key role in Sunlight's capital markets strategy, helping to establish and maintain access to low-cost capital from credit unions, banks, insurance companies, and the capital markets more broadly. This teammate will report directly to the Head of Capital Markets and have significant exposure to the CFO. Responsibilities: Work with the Capital Markets team and CFO to assess various options for raising capital for loans (including commitments from depositories and insurance companies, the capital markets more broadly, and other potential options) and to determine the most efficient options for Sunlight as we continue the rapid growth of the business. Support Sunlight's targeted approach to developing capital relationships with depository institutions. Serve as a resource in networking with potential capital providers, and otherwise assist in implementing the company's plans for developing additional relationships with depositories. Help drive the integration of new capital providers into the Sunlight platform. Educate potential funding sources on Sunlight's suite of loan products and distinguish Sunlight's core strengths from its competitors. Provide pricing analysis and help negotiate business terms with potential funding partners. Work collaboratively with Sunlight management to develop new products (including within solar and business lines other than solar), manage expectations internally related to the market view of such products, and develop efficient funding solutions for such products. Assist in execution of capital markets-specific transactions (likely to include warehouse financing and securitization) through supporting the due diligence process, modeling, structuring, providing ad hoc analyses, and managing related legal documentation. Structure, analyze and execute on whole loan sales (and other funding outlets). Understand and communicate credit profile and drivers of asset performance. The role may require collaborating on corporate finance projects periodically. |
