Dear Hiring Manager,

I am writing to express my interest in applying to your Editorial Assistant position and highlight my experience with various types of writing and communication styles.

Throughout my professional career, I have stayed close to my language expertise, and trusted my ability to inform. But I have also done so while carrying a mindset ready to learn, and find a new way to think about something if approached with the opportunity. This has allowed me to collaborate and eventually lead teams of various sizes consisting of many creatives, informers, educators, and analytical minds.

As a Writer for the Sullivan County Democrat Newspaper, I learned how to interview people of all perspectives with impartiality and accuracy while producing articles. These pieces would revolve around topics such as local education, sports, conservation, and community events.
Progressing toward the field of content writing, I was able to climb to the position of Quality Auditor for Tech Mahindra, a company contracted to train Google’s AI project GEMINI. This position honed my technical and analytical eye, allowing me to train over 60 other writers to proofread and summarize a plethora of texts with clarity, no contradictions and an empathetic tone. Texts would range from academic journals to public forums.
Since then, I have transitioned into education, based in Washington Yu Ying Public Charter School. I have tutored students individually and taught various lessons within various sized classrooms. It has helped me learn how to get an idea through to people in more performative ways and how to be empathetic toward any type of mindset. I am able to break my writing skills down into a more fundamental system, helping bring the best out of people.
In one school year, I was promoted to Team Lead for the adjacent after school program. This has allowed me to support other educators as well as work on media based projects such as the school’s social media, live streams, and newsletter. I created my own posting, editing, and recording schedules that coincide with one another to allow for as easy a process as possible.

These experiences have allowed me to communicate with those around me in meaningful ways through language, visuals, and storytelling. As long as I am able to do this, I can have a day that feels fulfilling.
