Biography

Eric Kripke is an American writer, producer and television creator best known for shaping several major genre series. He first gained wide recognition as the creator of Supernatural, the fantasy drama that premiered on The WB in 2005 before moving to The CW. Kripke served as showrunner for the show’s first five seasons, helping establish the mythology, tone and character-driven storytelling that turned the series into a long-running hit.

After leaving his day-to-day role on Supernatural, Kripke continued building his career in television with projects across science fiction, fantasy and action drama. He created Revolution, which aired from 2012 to 2014, and later co-created Timeless, which ran from 2016 to 2018.

Kripke later became the creator and showrunner of The Boys, Prime Video’s satirical superhero series, which premiered in 2019. The show became one of his most high-profile projects, expanding into a larger franchise while reinforcing his reputation for blending genre storytelling with dark humor, sharp character work and social commentary.
