Bonnie Gail Franklin was an American actress. She is best known for her leading role as Ann Romano in the television series One Day at a Time (1975–1984). She was nominated for Emmy, Tony, and Golden Globe Awards.
Franklin began her career as a child performer, appearing in television programs during the 1950s. She later built a successful stage career and gained recognition on Broadway. Her performance in the musical Applause earned her a Tony Award nomination, helping establish her as a versatile performer in both theater and television.
Her breakthrough came with One Day at a Time, where she starred for nine seasons. The series became a major success and was praised for addressing social issues such as divorce, dating, and family dynamics. Franklin’s performance earned her nominations for both Emmy and Golden Globe Awards.
