Chris Olsen Addresses Meghan Trainor Feud Rumors and Friendship Status

No Beef After All

Chris Olsen has shut down speculation that his friendship with Meghan Trainor has fallen apart.

The TikTok star, 28, addressed the rumors during the September 14 episode of Tommy DiDario’s I’ve Never Said This Before podcast. Olsen explained that the pair’s habit of joking online may have encouraged fans to read too much into their recent lack of appearances together.

“There is currently no beef,” Olsen said.

Olsen noted that distance is the main reason they spend less time together. He now lives in New York, while Trainor, 32, remains in Los Angeles with her husband, Daryl Sabara, and their three children. He added that they are still in contact and had spoken shortly before the interview.

Their friendship became public in 2022 after Olsen appeared on Workin’ On It, which Trainor hosted with her brother Ryan Trainor. Their social media friendship quickly became part of both stars’ public personas, with Olsen also growing close to Meghan’s wider family circle, which includes her younger brother Justin Trainor.

Olsen has continued to support Trainor publicly. In April, he defended the singer after she canceled her Get in Girl tour, which had been expected to begin in June following the release of her seventh studio album, Toy With Me.

The cancellation triggered criticism online, but Olsen pushed back against personal attacks directed at Trainor and spoke about the damaging effects of online harassment.

His latest comments suggest that the rumored feud is largely a product of social media speculation. Although Olsen and Trainor now live on opposite coasts and see each other less frequently, their friendship appears to remain intact.
