Taylor Said Yes
Taylor Frankie Paul has revealed that she accepted a proposal while filming her unaired season of The Bachelorette.
The 32-year-old reality star shared the detail in a preview from season 5 of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, featured during the Thursday, September 3, episode of Hulu’s Get Real podcast.
While speaking with costars Jessi Draper, Mikayla Matthews and Mayci Neeley, Taylor confirmed that one of her Bachelorette suitors proposed and that she accepted.
“[I said,] ‘Yes.’ Yes, I did [get engaged],” Taylor said.
The man was not identified in the clip, although the conversation appeared to point to contestant Doug Mason. Taylor’s costars noted that he shared the same initials as her ex Dakota Mortensen and was also from Idaho.
Taylor also revealed that she reconnected with Dakota after returning home from filming, adding another complication to what happened after the show.
Her season of The Bachelorette had been scheduled to premiere on ABC in February, but the network removed it from the lineup three days before its debut. At the time, Taylor and Dakota were involved in a domestic violence investigation in Utah.
The Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office later declined to file criminal charges. Taylor subsequently became involved in separate child custody disputes with Dakota and her ex-husband, Tate Paul.
Taylor shares daughter Indy May, 8, and son Ocean, 6, with Tate. She and Dakota welcomed son Ever True in 2024.
Production on season 5 of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives was also briefly halted in February. Producer Jeff Jenkins later said Taylor and Dakota could not film together because restraining orders required them to remain at least 100 feet apart for three years.
More details about Taylor’s cancelled Bachelorette season are expected when The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives season 5 premieres on Hulu on Thursday, September 10.
