Reynolds Backs Blake
Ryan Reynolds publicly celebrated Blake Lively on Mother’s Day, posting a tribute to his wife just days after she settled her legal dispute with Justin Baldoni.
Reynolds, 49, shared the message via Instagram Stories on Sunday, May 10, over two photos of himself and Lively, 38. The post came after Lively and Baldoni, 42, reached an out-of-court settlement on Monday, May 4, ahead of a trial that had been scheduled to begin Monday, May 18.
“I appreciate this mother beyond measure,” Reynolds wrote, praising Lively as kind, fearless and beloved by their family.
The couple share four children: daughters James, 11, Inez, 9, and Betty, 6, and son Olin, 2. Reynolds set the post to The Temper Trap’s Sweet Disposition.
Lively filed suit against Baldoni on December 31, 2024, after working with him from 2023 to 2024 on It Ends With Us, which was released in August 2024. She alleged sexual harassment, a hostile work environment and a smear campaign. Baldoni denied the claims and later filed a countersuit, which was dismissed.
The film, based on Colleen Hoover’s novel and adapted by screenwriter Christy Hall, centers on domestic violence and survival, making the off-screen dispute especially closely watched in entertainment circles.
Lively also marked Mother’s Day with a tribute to her mother, Elaine Lively, praising her joy, creativity and love for her children and grandchildren.
Reynolds had previously supported Lively during an April 19 Today interview with Willie Geist, saying he had never been prouder of his wife.
The post served as both a personal Mother’s Day message and a public show of support as Lively and Baldoni move forward from the settled dispute.
