Tour Dreams Paused
Meghan Trainor was preparing for what she described as a “beautiful chaos” of balancing family life on the road with her upcoming tour — until those plans shifted dramatically.
In the days leading up to the announcement, the Grammy-winning pop star had been candid about the logistics of bringing her family along for the ride. Her husband, Daryl Sabara, and their three children — Riley, Barry, and infant daughter Mickey — were all expected to join her as she traveled across the country.
Trainor had openly acknowledged both the excitement and the uncertainty of touring with young children, particularly a baby. “I know the shows will be fun and great and exhausting, but the fans keep me going,” she said, while noting the unpredictability of life on the road with an infant.
Her plans also included support from her mother, Kelli Trainor, who she affectionately referred to as an essential part of her touring team. The singer had envisioned a carefully managed routine to balance performances with parenting responsibilities.
However, on Thursday, April 17, Trainor confirmed that the Get In Girl Tour would no longer move forward. Sharing the news via social media, she explained that the demands of a new album rollout, tour preparations, and life with a newborn had become overwhelming.
“After a lot of reflection and some really tough conversations, I’ve made the difficult decision to cancel the Get in Girl Tour,” she stated, emphasizing that the choice was rooted in prioritizing her family.
The canceled tour had been scheduled to run from June 12 through August 15, arriving just weeks after the release of her upcoming album Toy With Me, set to drop on April 24. The project follows a steady evolution in Trainor’s sound and career trajectory since her breakout success with Title, as well as her continued collaborations with industry figures such as Ryan Trainor and longtime producers in her creative circle.
Trainor’s decision reflects a broader shift among touring artists navigating parenthood alongside demanding release cycles — a balance that performers like Pink and Beyoncé have also publicly addressed in recent years.
While the cancellation marks a setback for fans anticipating her return to the stage, Trainor signaled that the pause is temporary, with her focus now firmly on family and the upcoming album release.
