Custody Clash Intensifies
Kim Zolciak is pushing back on recent reports surrounding her ongoing custody dispute with estranged husband Kroy Biermann, clarifying the role of court-mandated counseling amid a newly approved temporary parenting plan.
In a detailed statement shared via Instagram Stories on April 3, Zolciak emphasized that her custodial status remains unchanged, despite headlines suggesting otherwise. The reality TV personality explained that a temporary agreement signed in late January requires both parents to attend regular counseling sessions, which she says were delayed due to international filming commitments spanning late February through March.
Her clarification arrives as newly surfaced court documents outline a short-term adjustment to parenting arrangements. A Georgia judge has granted Biermann temporary physical custody of their four minor children — KJ, Kash, and twins Kaia and Kane — beginning April 3, lasting until Zolciak completes four required therapy sessions, with the earliest possible resumption date set for April 13.
The court further noted that, upon completion of those sessions, the existing custody framework will resume in full unless otherwise modified. During the week of March 30, custody had already been split between the parents, with KJ and Kash staying with Zolciak and the twins with Biermann.
Zolciak, 47, reiterated that the temporary arrangement does not reflect a loss of custody, stating: “For the avoidance of any doubt, I have not lost custody of my children, nor has there been any modification to the custody arrangement outside the agreed upon temporary order.”
The filing follows Biermann’s bid for primary custody, in which he raised concerns about Zolciak’s parenting. She has denied the claims, calling them defamatory and tied to her time away filming two TV projects.
She and Biermann married in 2011 after meeting on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, produced by Andy Cohen, and split in 2023. Their relationship was also featured on Don’t Be Tardy.
The dispute reflects a familiar pattern within the Bravo sphere, where personal and legal conflicts have also played out publicly among figures like NeNe Leakes and Shereé Whitfield.
