Miley Revives Hannah Era
Miley Cyrus celebrated a defining milestone on March 23, stepping onto the red carpet at Los Angeles’ El Capitan Theatre for the Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special — exactly two decades after the Disney Channel series first premiered.
The 33-year-old singer and actress embraced the nostalgia in a shimmering silver dress, complete with the character’s signature blonde bangs. The event marked the launch of the reunion special, debuting March 24 on Disney+ and Hulu, revisiting the show that helped shape a generation of pop culture and launched Cyrus into global fame.
The special features appearances from Selena Gomez and Chappell Roan, reflecting both the show’s legacy and its influence on artists who followed, alongside Disney-era contemporaries like Demi Lovato and the Jonas Brothers.
Cyrus reunited on the carpet with former co-stars Shanica Knowles, Anna Maria Perez de Tagle, Cody Linley, Jason Earles and Moisés Arias, highlighting the enduring bond among the original cast. She was also joined by fiancé Maxx Morando and family members including Tish Cyrus, Dominic Purcell and Brandi Cyrus. The legacy of the series also remains closely tied to Billy Ray Cyrus, who co-starred as her on-screen father.
Cyrus recently revealed she began promoting the anniversary project before it officially existed, inspired by her godmother Dolly Parton, explaining: “She told me that if you want something to happen, promote it before it exists.”
Emily Osment, who played Lilly Truscott, was unable to attend due to filming commitments for the CBS sitcom Georgie Mandy’s First Marriage, from The Big Bang Theory creator Chuck Lorre, but shared her appreciation for fans in a video message.
