Kaia Gerber is reflecting on the lessons she’s learned from love — and why dating older men wasn’t always what it seemed.

The 24-year-old model and actress joined Jake Shane on his Therapuss podcast, where she spoke candidly about the challenges of her past relationships. Gerber explained that her history of dating older partners often led to uneven dynamics that left her sacrificing more of herself than she should have.

“I always dated people that were older than me, and so, I was very willing to give up everything,” she admitted, recalling how she once reshaped her values and even her personality to fit into someone else’s world.

Over the past few years, Gerber’s relationships have drawn plenty of attention, from her high-profile romance with Elvis star Austin Butler, 34, to her links with Pete Davidson, 31, and Euphoria actor Jacob Elordi, 28. But while the relationships put her in the spotlight, she now sees how much of herself she compromised along the way.

Instead of dwelling on the past, Gerber emphasized how much growth has come from recognizing those patterns — and breaking them. Today, she says her relationship with actor Lewis Pullman feels dramatically different.

The Palm Royale star described their romance as a shift toward something more grounded and supportive, crediting friendship as the foundation that makes it work. Pullman, 32, has helped her approach love in a way that feels healthier and more sustainable.

Gerber, who is also the daughter of legendary supermodel Cindy Crawford, noted that dating someone she already respected as a friend has been transformative. To her, friendship not only removes competition and imbalance, but also ensures mutual care in a way she once struggled to find.

With her career continuing to rise in both modeling and acting, Gerber appears more self-assured than ever — both in her work and in her relationships. And for her, that balance may be the most valuable lesson yet.
