Bethenny’s Marriage Ultimatum
Bethenny Frankel, the sharp-tongued entrepreneur and former Real Housewives of New York City star, says she’s open to the idea of marriage again — but only if it's for her daughter, Bryn.
"I want it for my daughter," Frankel, 54, told Us Weekly in an exclusive interview. "We had a family scare this week with my dogs, and it really brought us all closer. Bryn said, ‘I love my mom and I love my family.’ I want it for her, but not for the wrong reasons."
While she may be willing to take the plunge again, Frankel is clear about one thing: she’s not stepping out for just anyone. "I’m not leaving the house for a date unless it’s worth it. We either go out or stay home, no in-between," she shared. And when it comes to finding the right match, she’s not looking for a "washboard ab" type. Instead, Frankel says she’s more interested in someone a little older — someone who’s “got a five in front of their age."
Though her love life has taken a backseat recently, Frankel made it clear that she’s not exactly in a rush. “I’ve been celibate,” she admitted. "I’m not saying I’m a hot commodity, but I do have men pursuing me. They think we’d be a good match. But I get to choose. If they’re too tall, too short, not successful enough, or don’t live where I want to be… it’s a no-go."
Frankel also reflected on her past relationship struggles, saying that when she was younger, she’d often settle for relationships that weren’t right. “You get in a car going the wrong way just because your friends say, ‘Just have fun,’ but not anymore,” she said. “I’m not wasting time on anything unless it’s the real deal. I’d rather be alone with my vibrator and enjoy time with my kid, friends, and cocktails. Go away."
Since moving from Connecticut to Florida with Bryn and their dogs, Frankel says her loneliness is gone. "Moving to Connecticut was a weird choice for me, but I did it for a relationship. In hindsight, it wasn’t right. I’m much happier now."
