It is a compact RFID key fob, housing two chips of different standards (Mifare and EM-Marine), ensuring functionality without interference. Keys such as this one are produced by the KeyBox brand in Russia.

How Does the Dual-Chip Key Work?

When the intercom key interacts with the reader it grants access only to authorized users by utilizing the RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology. During the reading process, only one chip is activated at a time, since the signal is transmitted at two different frequencies: 13.56 MHz for the Mifare chip and 125 kHz for the EM-Marine chip.

How to activate?

The dual-frequency keyfob serves as a blank ready for recording a valid key. To activate it, simply visit a local workshop where a technician can copy the code onto your keyfob using specialized programming equipment.

The chips are rewritable, should you relocate or if the management company updates the intercom system, the very same technician can easily transfer the new information onto the chip.
