Mark Ruffalo Slams Joe Rogan Over Trump ICE Raid Criticism: ‘It’s a Little Late Now’

Rogan Slammed for Flip-Flop

Actor Mark Ruffalo has taken aim at Joe Rogan, accusing the popular podcaster of hypocrisy after Rogan criticized recent immigration raids — despite previously backing Donald Trump.

Rogan, 57, made headlines this week during an episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, where he slammed the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for targeting undocumented workers in aggressive raids. Speaking with Replit CEO Amjad Masad, Rogan expressed disbelief over what he described as unfair treatment of ordinary migrants, including those working in construction and landscaping jobs.

“One is the targeting of migrant workers. Not cartel members, not gang members, not drug dealers. Just construction workers. Showing up in construction sites, raiding them. Gardeners. Like, really?” Rogan said.

The comment quickly spread across social media, prompting Ruffalo, also 57, to respond sharply. The Avengers star reposted a clip of the podcast on Threads and called out Rogan’s past support for Trump, arguing that the harsh immigration policies were always part of the plan.

“Dear @joerogan, it’s a little late now to pretend like Project 2025 didn’t exist and wasn’t the playbook all along,” Ruffalo wrote. “You are either not that smart or not that dumb. It’s hard to tell at this point.”

Project 2025, a detailed policy guide written by a conservative think tank, outlines what a second Trump administration could look like. It includes major restructuring of the federal government, expansion of presidential powers, and an aggressive approach to immigration enforcement — including deportation of millions and mass hiring of politically loyal staff.

Ruffalo’s frustration comes amid a renewed wave of ICE raids under Trump’s renewed influence in Republican circles. These raids aren’t limited to criminal targets — they’ve been reported at workplaces, homes, parking lots, and even racetracks, affecting a broad range of undocumented individuals, regardless of criminal history.

Ruffalo has long criticized Trump — calling him “public enemy number one” back in 2020 and recently showing up at the “No Kings” protest. His message to Rogan now is simple: you backed this — don’t act surprised.
