Ramona Singer is setting the record straight after her longtime friend and Real Housewives of New York City alum Sonja Morgan was seen being escorted from a Florida restaurant in an ambulance last week.
“Sonja’s fine, she’s great, she’s doing well,” Singer, 68, assured Entertainment Tonight at the May 19 premiere of Fountain of Youth in New York City.
The concern began after footage obtained by TMZ showed Morgan, 61, visibly emotional while speaking to police officers outside Echo in Palm Beach on May 15. According to the outlet, Morgan had called emergency services not for herself but in response to another patron’s apparent medical distress. While assisting on scene, she reportedly sustained minor injuries and opted to accompany EMTs as a precaution.
“I’m incredibly grateful to the first responders for their swift care and professionalism,” Morgan said in a statement to People the following day.
Despite the good intentions, the situation escalated. TMZ reported that Morgan was issued a trespass warning by the Palm Beach Police Department, which she allegedly refused to sign.
The incident is the latest chapter in the post-RHONY lives of Singer and Morgan, who have both relocated to Palm Beach. Since leaving the Bravo spotlight, Morgan has taken her improv show Sonja in Your City on tour and starred in Luann Sonja: Welcome to Crappie Lake. Singer, meanwhile, appears content to keep reality TV in the rearview.
“I have my best life ever now,” she told ET. “I loved doing RHONY, it’s such an experience but I’m doing golf, and tennis, and traveling, and working out. I’ve never looked better and never felt better.”
